Canasta

Canasta is best played with four people having a pair of two in partnerships. Even two or three players can play the game by the variation abided with the game. These may not be as popular as the four player game, but when you do not have enough participants then one of the variations is in the picture. With so many variations to play, it is safe to say that most players, regardless of location, can find a form of Canasta that suits their needs.

Canasta does not have a long history like other card games, but has yet gained enough fame. It is widely known that the game began to spread quickly, and in no time at all it was being played in Argentina, and eventually the entire United States. In 1950’s, Canasta began to gain huge popularity that it was just about on par with Bridge as far as the top card game was concerned.
